MLIS students may audit the equivalent of 6 credit hours in each residency year of their formal program. The courses must be relevant to the student's program of study. Students auditing a class pay one-half of the regular tuition fee plus auxiliary fees, if applicable.
Permission must be obtained from the course instructor before registering in the course as an audit student. The minimum requirement for an audit student is attendance in all classes. Instructors may deny the audit request because of space limitations, subject content, mode of delivery and/or the need for pre-requisites.
The audit option becomes available via Dal Online during the first day of classes each term. Students first register for the courses in the normal way. Once registered, they change their registration via the drop down option (Audited). This will change their for-credit registration to an audit registration.
Students will be charged the normal audit tuition for each audit registration which is approximately half the regular course fee.
