On September 17, 2009, the School of Information and the Dalhousie School of Information Management Associated Alumni held a celebration to commemorate SIM’s 40th anniversary. The evening’s event kicked off with the invited speakers who shared their views on, and memories of, SIM. Speakers included Dr. Tom Traves, President of Dalhousie University; Dr. David Wheeler, Dean of the Faculty of Management; Mr. John Teskey, President of the Canadian Library Association; Dr. Fiona Black, SIM director; and Dr. Norman Horrocks, former SIM director and dean of the Faculty of Management. The formal component of the celebration concluded with the presentation of the Associated Alumni Award to Peggy Logan. Guests included former and current SIM faculty and staff, alumni from across Canada, as well as incoming and returning SIM students. The evening was a great success and featured a wonderful collaborative efforts from many individuals from SIM and the Associated Alumni.
