Programs    

Master of Library and Information Studies
Information Management professionals are increasingly required to assume managerial and leadership roles. Graduates demonstrating leadership abilities, who can problem-solve effectively in complex environments, have a high tolerance for ambiguity and change, and who possess a strong service orientation are well-positioned for an exciting professional career.  The Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degree will prepare you to connect people with information, and to contribute to the profession and the discipline through service and scholarly research.   

Combined Degree Programs
The School of Information Management offers three combined degree programs which allow students to study in two fields concurrently.
MLIS and Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM)
MLIS and Master of Public Administration (MPA)
MLIS and Juris Doctor (JD)   

Master of Information Management
The Master of Information Management (MIM) is a limited enrolment program for mid-career professionals with at least 5 years' experience in the private, public or NGO sectors. It is a part-time program offered primarily by distance.  The MIM program offers interim credentials en route to graduation: Graduate Certificate in IM and Graduate Diploma in IM (after three and six courses respectively).   

Bachelor of Management
The Bachelor of Management (BMgmt) is an interdisciplinary program that develops adaptable, innovative and creative professionals who make significant contributions to our region, Canada and the world. We pride ourselves on attracting a variety of students from around the world to create an international learning environment. Our students have the opportunities to gain practical and theoretical knowledge of management while understanding their responsibilities to their communities, to the environment, and to society.  Students can pursue their passions through experiential learning opportunities and through a creative blend of courses from business, public administration, information and environmental management.   
Knowledge Management Major (BMgmt)
Persuing a Knowledge Managment major will allow you to learn key techniques to identify, capture, process and distribute information to support decision-making and strategic planning in any organizational setting.   
Interdisciplinary Ph.D.
The School of Information Management does not offer a Ph.D. program. It does however, participate in Dalhousie University's Interdisciplinary PhD program. This program is designed for students who wish to engage in doctoral studies involving two or more departments in the University. The standards for admission are extremely high, and the School welcomes inquiries from qualified individuals.
